Case Size: 43 x 38mm
Movement: Automatic
Case: 18KT Rose Gold
Case Size: 43 x 38mm
Dial: Dark Grey
Bracelet: Brown Strap with Rose Gold Deployment

Featuring hand-stitched, large-scale alligator straps in brown and a dark grey dial, this watch is an absolute masterpiece! Apart from displaying the hours and minutes, they have a subsidiary seconds dial at 4 o’clock, a power-reserve indicator between 10 and 11 o'clock, and an analog date at 7 o’clock with an integrated moon-phase display. This timepiece also has a three-part case with a sapphire-crystal case back, a screw-down crown, and a moon-phase corrector push piece in the side of the case. The corrector limits the water resistance of the watches to 60 meters. The movement is the self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 240 PS IRM C LU movement, which despite its sophistication is merely 3.98 mm high, thanks to the 22K gold minirotor recessed in the main plate.

What Are Watch Complications?

This is a question I often get asked. When referring to watches, "complications" are any functions beyond hours, minutes, and seconds on a timepiece. When a watch only has these three functions, it is called simple movement. Extra features such as a chronograph, day/date, and automatic winding, do not themselves make a watch complicated.

It is the combination of these features which will make a watch a complicated piece. The more features, the more skill and work is required to design and repair these watches. A complex watch may have a thousand parts, while a regular day/date chronograph will only have around 250. These particularly complex pieces are referred to as "grandes complications".

"Ultra-complicated" watches were innovated by ambitious watchmakers looking to add numerous very complex functions, some including astrological functions. These watches are made in small numbers and can cost several hundreds of thousands of dollars. Companies such as Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin are amongst the more highly-regarded makers of these ultra-complicated timepieces.

Edox Les Bemonts 18 Kt Gold Automatic Mens Watch 82001-18DIO

Though Edox may not have a familiar sounding name to the casual watch shopper, the Swiss watch maker has been making quality timepieces for well over 100 years. The Les Bemonts model pictured here boasts an solid 18kt gold bracelet, gold dial, and Swiss quartz movement. This is simply a classic gold watch, one any distinguished gentleman would be proud to wear. When I am retiring to a tropical island in my latter years, you will likely see me sporting some Gucci loafers and an Edox Les Bemonts.

Watch Of The Month

Easily one of my favorite Omega timepieces of all time, I simply love the Constellation Double Eagle. I have always been fan of a steel bracelet and white dial, and I must say this might be number one for me. It is just a gorgeous watch and very affordable for an Omega. This looks like a $10,000 watch, but you can easily get one for half that. Here's some of the specifications.

White Dial

Chronograph Feature

Self Winding Automatic Chronometer Movement

Caliber: Omega 3313 Power Reserve: 55 Hours

Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crystal

Sapphire Crystal Exhibition Back

Brushed Steel Case & Bracelet

All in all I give this watch a 4 out of 5 stars on design, and 5 out of 5 on complications. Let's say 4.5 stars outright for the Omega Constellation Double Eagle Automatic. A classic timepiece by Omega, one of the Swiss luxury watch originals.

Omega Constellation Mens Double Eagle Automatic Watch

Omega are amongst the finest Swiss luxury watches in the entire world. The Omega Constellation is no disappointment, even to their strict standards. The stainless steel bracelet and white dial make for am instant classic. If you want to talk complications, the Constellation boasts a Omega 3313 Power Reserve: 55 Hours and Self Winding Automatic Chronometer Movement. Personally this is one of my favorite Omega designs in recent memory. It is no wonder, that even without a James Bond movie of the horizon, this Swiss luxury watch maker remains ahead of the pack.
