The Grand Carrera series from TAG Heuer is easily one of my favorite lines of watches ever crafted. They are revolutionary in the sports luxury niche of fine timepieces. The Carrera line was introduced in the 60's and since its' revamping a few years ago has returned to watch supremacy. While priced slightly above the mass consumption consumer level, they are affordable enough for almost anyone to obtain one of these exquisite watches. Style meets form and function with the TAG Heuer Calibre 36, receiver of a Red Dot Award, given for "good design"(by Design Zentrum Nordheim Westfalen in Germany). It also received Sports Watch of the Year in 2008.
Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500M with the Calibre 5 movement also received the award. This is the 5th time in 7 years that the Swiss watch maker received the award. It's safe to say that TAG Heuer are amongst the most well designed, and currently popular timepieces on the market. It's no wonder why the latter is true.
