Bulova Watch Company was started in New York City In 1875 by Joseph Bulova. For nearly 100 years they have been at the forefront of fine timepiece innovation. They started out making clocks and fine pocket watches. Wristwatches did not gain popularity with men until after WWI, as returning soldiers came back with watches attached to the wrist for better ease of use in battle That is quite understandable, image pulling out a pocket watch in the heat of battle!
In 1919 Bulova introduced the world's first full line of jeweled wristwatches, with the first full womens' line following it. The list of accolades for Bulova is long, including inventing the world's first electronic watch, The Accutron. They designed instruments for N.A.S.A, and produced the first T.V. commercial.
